B. Engine 103/104
Models 124, 126, 129, 2011. Reclaim and recycle A/C refrigerant.
2. Remove lower engine compartment encapsulation panel.
3. Release tension and remove poly-V-belt.
4. Disconnect 3-pole connector (A9X1) on A/C compressor.
5. Remove screw (14) securing suction/discharge line to manifold.
Tightening torque: 23 +/- 2.3 Nm.
6. Remove bolts (7). Tightening torque: 23 +/- 2.3 Nm.
7. Remove A/C compressor downwards.
8. Remove manifold. Remove shipping plate from remanufactured unit only after releasing pressure via the schrader valve. Install manifold and new O-rings onto remanufactured unit.
9. Correct oil level in compressor (compensate for oil loss if additional components were replaced).
10. Reinstall in reverse sequence.
Note:
If clutch must also be replaced, see section H.
11. Replace receiver/drier (SMS, Job No. 83-540).
12. Evacuate and recharge A/C system. Run engine at idle for approximately four minutes and check for proper function and leaks (SMS, Job No. 83-508).
