Replacing Tensioning Rail

Removal:

Lower Timing Cover And Tensioning Rail:

1. Remove timing case cover (96), Removal and Installation of Timing Case Cover.

Marking Crank Gear:

2. Mark timing chain with crankshaft gear (arrows).
3. Take off tensioning rail (70a).

Installation:




- Position piston of No. 1 cylinder to TDC (arrow).





- Positioning marking (22) or positioning hole of camshaft must be aligned with the marking (5) on 1st camshaft bearing.





- Effective 12/86 the positioning hole (21) is provided in place of the pin (22).

- Install all components in the reverse order of disassembly.
