Thermostat: Service and Repair

Thermostat Housing:

12 Screw
11 Top section of coolant thermostat housing
10 0-ring
15 Main valve
14 Bypass valve
8 Coolant thermostat
9 Ball valve

REMOVAL
1. Drain coolant at radiator.
2. Unscrew bolts (12), tightening torque 6 Nm (4.5 ft lbs).
3. Place top section of coolant thermostat housing (11) with connected hose to the side.
4. Remove coolant thermostat (8).

INSTALLATION
- Renew 0-ring (10).
- Install coolant thermostat (8) so that the ball valve (9) is at the highest point.
- Install in the reverse order.
