Storage Compartment in Oddments Tray







Location of storage compartment in oddments tray.



Scope of work:

1. Disconnect ground cable on battery.
2. Remove ashtray from oddments tray (eliminated).
3. Remove cover on selector lever.

b. Sheet metal screw.






1. Cigar lighter.


4. Remove cigar lighter from cover (eliminated).






2. Wiring harness


5. Remove wiring harness for cigar lighter and ashtray light (eliminated).






3. Wiring harness routing


6. Install new wiring harness for cigar lighter and ashtray light.

7. Install cover on selector lever.

8. Route the two cables emerging from the wiring harness through the opening at the bottom of the storage compartment.

9. Insert the front retaining tabs of the storage compartment below the cover.

10. Press rear of storage compartment down until the spring catches.

7. 2-pole connector

11. Insert 3-pole connector into holder.

12. Catch oddments tray in cover.

8. Storage compartment illumination


13. Insert bulb into storage compartment illumination socket.

14. Route 2-pole connector up to storage compartment illumination socket and connect.

15. Install storage compartment light.

6. 3-pole connector

16. Connect 3-pole plug for cigar lighter and ashtray illumination.






10. Ashtray housing

17. Insert ashtray housing into storage compartment and fasten with 2 screws.

18. Insert ashtray into ashtray housing.

19. Reconnect ground cable to battery.

20. Check cigar lighter and ashtray illumination as well as storage compartment illumination for proper function.
