Front Door Latch: Service and Repair

Removal and installation of door lock on driver's door

Removal

1 Remove door lining. Service and Repair
2 Loosen plastic foil in upper range.
3 Remove door inside actuation. Service and Repair




4 Remove locking cylinder on door handle, outside. Service and Repair
5 Remove screws on door lock.




6 Lower door lock in downward direction and swivel in forward direction around rear window running rail.
7 Remove door lock through lower assembly opening.


Installation




8 Insert door lock with locking linkage through assembly opening of door in such a manner that the grab handle comes to rest behind actuating lever of door lock.




9 Tighten the two fastening screws on face end first, and then those on door inside plate to 8 Nm.




10 Insert locking cylinder with turning bar into turning socket on door lock and fasten.




11 Remove masking on door face in range of door lock.
12 Adjust relief clearance between actuating lever of door lock and handle at eccentric screw with Phillips head screwdriver.

Note: Relief clearance should amount to 0-1 mm.




13 For further installation proceed vice versa.
