1. Remove contents of parts kit and verify against Parts Information table on last page of work instruction.

2. Raise rear sunshade and rear headrests. Remove First Aid kit.

Note:
Use caution when drilling mounting holes so as not to drill through the hatshelf.

3. Place template (from installation kit) in position in right forward corner of trunk under hatshelf. Align the reference points. Punch four hole locations according to template (location for threaded inserts).

4. Place CD shell in position to assure proper alignment with mounting holes before drilling (use CD shell from Installation kit).

5. Carefully drill hole locations to 9.5 mm. Paint bare metal edges with MB zinc dust paint.

6. Using installation tool (902 589 00 37 00), insert threaded inserts into four mounting holes.

7. Mount CD shell using 6 mm bolts and washers. Rework CD shell mounting holes if necessary.

8. Remove battery cover and right wheel well liner. Vacuum metal shavings from inside trunk.

9. Remove white BUS cable from tuner/amplifier. Reroute cable to back of CD shell location (it may be necessary to remove the tuner/amplifier to reroute the cable).

10. Connect grey connector from black BUS cable (from installation kit) to tuner/amplifier (same connection as white BUS cable was on).

11. Disconnect 4-pole power connection from tuner/amplifier. Connect power extension harness; piggy back connector to power harness and short extension harness to tuner/amplifier.

12. Route black BUS cable and power extension harness behind tuner/amplifier to back of CD shell.

13. Unpack CD changer. Remove four shipping screws and store in back of CD changer. Remove plugs and set suspension position to Horizontal. Replace plugs.

14. Install four mounting screws and finger tighten.

15. Slide CD changer into shell.

16. Connect black connector of back BUS cable to Tuner connection and white BUS cable connector to Frontgeraet connection on back of CD changer. Connect power extension harness to back of CD changer.

17. Ensure proper seating of CD changer and all connections then tighten screws.

18. Test function of CD changer.

19. Install CD changer cover.
