Cellular Phone Transceiver: Service and Repair



Removing And Installing Transmitter-Receiver Unit

1 Connect quiescent current preservation unit

See "Commercially Available Tools" given below.

2 Disconnect ground cable at battery

CAUTION: To protect against inadvertent contact of disconnected ground cable with ground (battery) W10, insulate cable shoe of ground cable

3 Remove cover of left wheel house recess
4.1 Open side trim in right rear
4.2 Open side trim in left of trunk
5 Remove cover on CTEL transmitter-receiver (A35)
6 Press back tensioning spring (arrow) on bracket and pull out CTEL transmitter-receiver (A35)


7 Unscrew screws (18) and remove bracket (19) with CTEL transmitter-receiver (A35)


8 Unscrew screws (18) and remove retainer (30) with CTEL transmitter-receiver (A35)
9 Release and remove coupling on CTEL transmitter-receiver (A35)
10 Disconnect antenna cable on CTEL transmitter-receiver (A35)
11 Install in reverse order
