ABS - Sensor Cable Routing Caution

A. Parking Brake switch

As of May 1987 the parking brake switch iS installed from below into the parking brake pedal support (previously from above). The switch mount is provided with 2 lugs which prevent a switch installation from above.

When replacing the switch, make certain that the direction of its installation is the same as the direction of its removal. The switch itself as well as the part numbers of the parking brake switch and mount are unchanged.

B. ABS Sensor Cable Routing

When replacing or inspecting the front ABS sensors, make certain that the colored tape on the sensor cable is positioned immediately below the cable retaining clamp (arrow, Figure 2). If the colored tape is located inside or above the clamp, the cable could be under tension and be damaged when the road wheel moves downward.
