Idle Speed Control

The RPM sensor reads the engine speed and creates an AC voltage signal for delivery to the control unit. The control unit receives the signal and performs a nominal-actual value comparison. During this process, the idle speed is maintained at a contant speed by the electromagnetic actuator. When the coolant temperature is below 140°F (60°C), the idle speed is increased.
