Vacuum Amplifier

Check vacuum amplifier and pressure adjustment, by connecting a suitable vacuum tester with a Y distributor to return nipple on vacuum amplifier and note vacuum value with engine idling.
a. Nominal vacuum reading obtained should be:
Manual trans 300 ± 20 mbar
Automatic trans 350 ± 20 mbar
b. If vacuum obtained is above or less than the nominal value specified, remove protective cap from vacuum amplifier and adjust by turning the adjusting screw clockwise or counterclockwise until vacuum reading obtained is as specified.
c. If vacuum reading obtained is correct, test pressure control flap.
d. If vacuum reading obtained is not correct, check supply pressure on vacuum amplifier inlet nipple.
e. Replace vacuum amplifier, if necessary.
