Condition for test
Observe.

A. Compressor Cutout if electromagnetic clutch of refrigerant compressor fails to Cut in
Check, test steps 1 to 6.

B. Cutout of electromagnetic clutch of refrigerant compressor via compressor cutout control unit (N6) or temperature switch and microswitch
Check, paragraphs 1 to 3.


Conventional tester
Multimeter e.g. Sun, DMM 5


Condition for test
An essential requirement for the test is that the actuation of the refrigerant compressor operates correctly.


Checking actuation
Switch on ignition, blower and air conditioning system.







Connect voltmeter to positive and check both connections of pressure switch (S31/1) consecutively to see whether battery voltage is present. If both connections are without voltage, check actuation of the refrigerant compressor.


If voltage is present at one connection only, check high pressure of air conditioning system. If pressure is > 3 bar, renew pressure switch (S31/1). If pressure is < 2 bar, top up air conditioning system with approx. 200 g refrigerant (R12), and localize and eliminate any leakage.
