Test E (Vacuum Circuit 4, Defrost-Center-Diverter Flaps)

TEST E:
TESTING VACUUM CIRCUIT 4, VACUUM ELEMENTS FOR DEFROSTER OUTLET FLAPS (38), CENTER OUTLET FLAP (40) AND DIVERTER FLAP (41) FOR LEAKS:

Preparation for Test:

Check Valve (36):

1. Disconnect dark red/green vacuum line at check valve (36) and connect tester to vacuum line.
2. Switch on ignition.

NOTE: The tester remains connected to the dark red/green vacuum line for the entire duration of the test.

Test Procedure:






1. Press "LOWER AIR" function key on control unit and engage temperature selector at "MIN".
2. Evacuate with tester (approx. 400 mbar) and read off pressure gauge.
3. If reading on pressure gauge changes test vacuum elements (38, 40 and 41) individually and replace if necessary, or test red/white, red/light blue, middle green and red/black vacuum lines and replace if necessary.
