As of February 1993, a modified seal ring, part no. 007603 027101, which provides a better oil seal for the timing chain tensioner housing was phased into production.

The previous version seal ring was installed from October 1991 to January 1993.

The modified seal ring can be retrofitted to the above-listed engines.

The torque specification for the timing chain tensioner housing has been increased to 80 Nm for both version seals to ensure proper sealing.

The affected vehicles should have the timing chain tensioner housing re-torqued to 80 Nm during the next dealer visit.

Due to the minimum amount of labor time required for the re-torquing of the timing chain tensioner housing, warranty claims will not be accepted.
