B.Modified Anti-Theft Alarm Control Unit

As of November 1985 production, a modified anti-theft alarm control unit (production code as of 4585 = 45th week of 1985) is installed.

The modified control unit must be installed in vehicles prior to the production change in case of complaints of alarm activation while driving.
Procedure

1. Disconnect and cover the battery negative terminal.

2. Remove front passenger footrest.

3. Remove glove box (Model 107 only).

4. Check production code of antitheft alarm control unit (arrow, Figure 13). To check the production code of the control unit in Model 107, remove control unit. Replace control units having a production code earlier than 4585.
5. Check the pin sockets in 14-pole connector of control unit for proper soldering and contact. Do not pry off the connector by applying pressure from one side only. Always apply even pressure when pulling off and reconnecting any electrical connector to avoid bending the pin sockets. Using a pin as a gauge, rebend any loose fitting sockets (Figure 14).

Note: The pin of adaptor cable 809509 from the electrical connection kit 201 589 00 99 00 can be used as a gauge.

6. Check anti-theft alarm system for proper operation. Reinstall all parts in reverse order of removal.
