Throttle Position Switch: Testing and Inspection
Testing wide open throttle/closed throttle position switchPreceding work:
Removal and installation of throttle valve assembly
Note: Check closed throttle position stop only in the case of wide open throttle/closed throttle position switch with wide open throttle/closed throttle speed detection.
- Set ohmmeter to measuring range 0 - infinite.
- Check full throttle stop by pressing switch against wide open throttle stop. The readout should be 0 ohm. Turn throttle valve slightly towards closed throttle position: this must cause the readout to show infinite ohm.
- Check closed throttle position stop by pressing throttle switch against closed throttle position stop. Turn throttle switch far enough to obtain a readout of 0 ohm. Raise throttle switch 0.2 mm; this must cause readout to show infinite ohm.
- Closed throttle position contact:
closed throttle position approx. 0 ohm
wide open throttle position approx. infinite ohm
- Wide open throttle position contact:
closed throttle position approx. infinite ohm
wide open throttle position approx. 0 ohm
partial throttle position approx. infinite ohm
