SUBJECT: IMPROVED BLOWER SWITCH MODEL 201, M.Y. 1986


On model 201 vehicles, that fall within the range shown below, there is a high failure rate of the blower switch. This is particularly evident in vehicles operated in high ambient temperature areas.

Vehicles that fall within this range should be inspected during the next service visit to insure that the latest version blower switch has been installed. However, check vehicle's service file first to ensure that the replacement did or did not take place. The new version switch can also be identified upon removal by a white label showing a manufacturing code of

(revision) (calender week) (year)

or higher. Blower switches suppllied from the Parts Department as of June 1986 were of the latest version.

After installing the new version switch, or confirming its installation, a note should be made on the inside, front cover of the maintenance booklet as follows:

BLOWER SWITCH EXCHANGED/CHECKED (date)

(technicians initial)

If the switch was replaced, a warranty claim should be submitted in the usual manner.
