Front Door Latch: Service and Repair

Removal and installation of door lock on driver's door

Removal

1 Remove door lining. Service and Repair
2 Remove door inside actuation. Service and Repair
3 Remove closing cylinder on outside door handle. Service and Repair
4 Loosen plastic sheeting in upper range.




5 Unscrew screws on door lock.
6 Lower door lock and swivel in forward direction around rear window opener rail.




7 Remove door lock through upper assembly opening.

Installation




8 Insert door lock together with locking linkage through assembly opening into door in such a manner that the grab handle comes to rest behind actuating lever of door lock.




9 Tighten the two fastening screws on face first and then those on inside door panel.




10 Introduce closing cylinder with turning rod into turning nut on door lock.
11 For further installation proceed vice versa.
