1 Fit coupling flange on drive pinion.
If present the groove on the drive pinion and groove on the joint flange must match.
2 Attach retainer wrench (01) to joint flange.

3 Screw on new collar nut and tighten carefully in stages until the specified total friction moment (friction torque) is reached.
4 Detach retainer wrench (01) from joint flange.
5 Using the torque meter (02) check the total friction moment at the drive pinion.
6 Tighten the collar nut carefully in stages until the specified total friction moment is reached. Check total friction moment after each retightening using the torque meter (02).
The total friction moment must not be obtained by slackening the collar nut.
It is absolutely essential to avoid overtightening the collar nut as otherwise the inner compression ring will be compressed and has to be replaced in each case. This requires total disassembly of the gear set.
