Location
The exhaust gas recirculation positioner is located at the left rear beside the exhaust gas turbocharger.

Task
The exhaust gas recirculation positioner controls the exhaust flow which is led into the intake tract of the engine to reduce the nitrogen oxides (NOX) emissions.

Function
The exhaust gas recirculation positioner changes the flow cross section of the duct through which recycled exhaust flows.

The exhaust gas recirculation actuator is integrated in the cooling circuit of the engine as protection against thermal overload.
