GF91.29-P-5223GM Component Description of Driver-Side Front Seat Adjustment Control Unit With Memory

GF91.29-P-5223GM Component Description Of Driver-side Front Seat Adjustment Control Unit With Memory
- with CODE (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors)

Component Identification:

Location
The driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) is located below the seat frame of the driver seat.

Tasks
- Actuation of the motors for the seat and steering column adjustment as per the requests read in by the driver seat adjustment with memory switch group (S91)
- Control of the manual steering column adjustment as per the requests via the interior CAN (CAN B)
- Storing of the memory settings for driver seat, steering column, and outside mirror
- Request to the door control units for driving to the memory positions of the outside mirrors
- Control of the easy entry/exit feature
- Actuation of crash-active easy entry/exit feature (as of model year 2010 / change year 09)
- Power supply from driver lumbar support regulator control unit (N32/23)

These are grouped as follows:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluating input factors
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of sensors and signals
These input factors are read in via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN (CAN B)

Direct line
- Circuit 30
- Circuit 31

The following sensors are read in via direct lines:
- Hall sensors of seat adjustment unit motors
- Hall sensors of steering column motors
- Driver seat adjustment with memory switch group (S91)

Interior CAN (CAN B)
- Circuit status and battery voltage from EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)
- Status of rear bench seat from rear SAM control unit (N10/8)
- Crash signal from restraint system control unit (N2/7) over the central gateway control unit (N93) for actuation of the crash-active easy entry/exit feature (as of model year 2010 / change year 09)
- Steering column adjustment switch (S59) from central gateway control unit (N93)

First, the signals of the steering column adjustment switch are placed on the engine compartment CAN (CAN C) by the steering column tube module control unit (N80) and read in by the central gateway control unit.

The signals are read-in/sent by the driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory. The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors read in are evaluated by the driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory. The actuation of the motors for seat and steering column adjustment takes place via integrated relays.

Actuating components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN (CAN B)

Direct line
- Circuit 30 and circuit 31 to the driver lumbar support regulator control unit

The following motors are actuated via direct lines:
- Steering column in/out motor (M20/1)
- Steering column up/down motor (M20/2)
- Driver seat longitudinal adjustment motor (M27/1)
- Driver rear seat height adjustment motor (M27/2)
- Driver front seat height adjustment motor (M27/3)
- Driver head restraint motor (M27/4)
- Driver backrest angle adjustment motor (M27/5)

Interior CAN (CAN B)
- Signals for actuating the memory positions of the outside mirrors to the left front door control unit (N69/1) and the right front door control unit (N69/2)

Variants
There are no variants for the hardware of the driver seat control unit.
The country or left-hand drive vehicle/right hand drive vehicle allocation is software coded.
