AR41.10-P-0086-05GZ Correcting rear articulation angle at rear axle center assembly
Check Values For Propeller Shaft Inclination Angle:
Rear Axle Carrier:
Component Identification:
The inclination change of the rear axle differential means that not only the articulation angle at the rear of the rear propeller shaft changes relative to the rear axle differential (K5), but also the articulation angle at the front of the rear propeller shaft to the rear of the rear propeller shaft (K4). Therefore a complete check measurement must always be carried out after an articulation angle correction.
1 Unscrew nut (1) and remove eccentric disk (2).
2 Mount the new eccentric disk (2) with the required eccentricity on the bolt, screw on and tighten nut (1).
The eccentric disks are available in millimeter graduation from 1 to 4 mm. The eccentricity dimension is applied to the eccentric disks, the eccentric disks only have one possible installation position.
If the rear axle differential is raised at the front suspension by 1 mm :
^ the articulation angle at the rear of the rear propeller shaft to the rear axle differential (5) becomes approx. 0.2 degrees smaller,
^ the articulation angle at the front of the rear propeller shaft to the rear of the rear propeller shaft (4) becomes approx. 0.07 degrees larger.
If the rear axle differential is lowered at the front suspension by 1 mm :
^ the articulation angle at the rear of the rear propeller shaft to the rear axle differential (K5) becomes approx. 0.2 degrees larger,
^ the articulation angle at the front of the rear propeller shaft to the rear of the rear propeller shaft (4) becomes approx. 0.7 degrees smaller.
