Complaint:

Noises in area of B-pillar trim or belt height adjuster on driver/passenger side.

Cause:

1. The contact points between the B-pillar trim and the belt height adjuster cause noises.

2. The recovery spring of the belt height adjuster makes noises.

3. Belt height adjuster could be making noises.

Remedy:

Remedy 1: Line contact points between the B-pillar trim and the belt height adjuster with felt:

->To do this, remove the B-pillar trim (ar68.30-p-4700gq)

->Push B-pillar trim gently away from belt height adjuster and push the felt (A000 983 17 10) as deep as possible between the B-pillar trim and the belt height adjuster. (Figure 1)

->Install the felt pieces at all the contact points around the belt height adjuster (see file Filzstellen B-Saule.pdf)

Remedy 2: Cut off bar under recovery spring:

-> To do this, push the recovery spring (Figure 3) slightly to one side. Now use side cutting pliers to cut off the bar so that the spring can no longer touch it.

Remedy 3: Glue felt pieces to belt height adjuster. (See file Filzstellen B-Saule.pdf)
