Location

The right sliding door closing assist motor is located in the center of right C-pillar.
The left sliding door closing assist motor is located in the center of the C-pillar.

Task

The main task of the right sliding door closing assist motor and left sliding door closing assist motor is to facilitate closing against sealing pressure.
They move the left striker or right striker in the corresponding door a defined distance to ensure that the sliding door can be closed without noise, free of vibration and without increased force.

Function

When the left or right sliding door is open, the striker is in the extended position.If the left or right rotary tumbler lock reaches the striker in the C-pillar when closing the corresponding sliding door, it arrests in the striker.
As soon as the rotary tumbler is in the main catch, the right sliding door control unit (N69/6) or left sliding door control unit (N69/7) receives a corresponding signal from the right sliding door CL rotary tumbler switch (M14/27s1) or left sliding door CL rotary tumbler switch (M14/28s1) integrated into the door lock and actuates the right or left sliding door closing assist motor which pulls the striker toward inside.This closes the sliding door completely.
