GF72.30-D-0002H Closing Assist (CA), Function

- with CODE (T50) Electrical closing assist for right sliding door

- with CODE (T51) Electrical closing assist for left sliding door

General

To overcome the closing forces at the end of a closing procedure (sealing counterpressure), an electrically driven closing assist (CA) is used in the corresponding sliding door (on vehicles with code (T16) Right sliding door or with code (T19) Left sliding door).

On vehicles with code (D03) Roof and rear-end doors, high version or with code (D05) Super high roof, an electrically driven auxiliary lock is additionally installed in the corresponding sliding door. The following two versions can be differentiated:
- SHI in combination with electric load compartment sliding door system (E-LST)
- SHI in combination with a manually actuated sliding door

"Open" function sequence

Function requirements:
- SHI in retracted position
- Auxiliary lock, on vehicles with code (D03) Roof and rear-end doors, high version or with code (D05) Super high roof, closed.
- Sliding door in completely closed position

As soon as the rotary tumbler exits the main catch position, opening of the sliding door is recognized.

The striker then moves to the extended position and remains there.The rotary tumbler of the auxiliary lock opens when the associated locking pawl is actuated.

"Close" function sequence

Function requirements:
- SHI in extended position
- Auxiliary lock, on vehicles with code (D03) Roof and rear-end doors, high version or with code (D05) Super high roof, opened
- Sliding door in main catch position of sliding door lock

As soon as the right sliding door CL rotary tumbler switch (M14/27s1) or left sliding door CL rotary tumbler switch (M14/28s1) signals the main catch position, the striker of the SHI moves to the retracted position.Then the rotary tumbler in the auxiliary lock is closed by the right sliding door CL auxiliary lock motor (M14/31m1) or left sliding door ZV additional lock motor (M14/32m1) using a cable.

The rotary tumbler of the auxiliary lock is released again after successful closing by retraction of the drive.

"Open" function sequence on vehicles with code (T56) Electrical actuation for left sliding door or with code (T55) Electrical actuation for right sliding door

Function requirements:
- SHI in retracted position
- Auxiliary lock, on vehicles with code (D03) Roof and rear-end doors, high version or with code (D05) Super high roof, closed.
- Sliding door in completely closed position

In addition, a request to open a sliding door by actuating one of the following components:
- Outer and inner door handle via right sliding door button (S159/1) or left sliding door button (S159/2)
- Transmitter button "Unlock sliding door, rear-end door and open/close sliding door" in transmitter key (A8/1)
- Left sliding door button (N72/1s1) in OBF control unit (N72/1)
- Right sliding door button (N72/1s11) in OBF control unit

The SHI striker moves the extended position and remains there.The rotary tumbler of the auxiliary lock opens when the associated locking pawl is actuated.

"Close" function sequence on vehicles with code (T56) Electrical actuation for left sliding door or with code (T55) Electrical actuation for right sliding door

Function requirements:
- SHI in extended position
- Auxiliary lock on vehicles with code (D03) Roof and rear-end doors, high version or with code (D05) Super high roof, opened.
- Sliding door in main catch position of sliding door lock

In addition, a request to open a sliding door by actuating one of the following components:
- Outer and inner door handle via right sliding door button or left sliding door button
- Transmitter button "Unlock sliding door, rear-end door and open/close sliding door" in transmitter key.
- Left sliding door button in OBF control unit
- Right sliding door button in OBF control unit

As soon as the right sliding door CL rotary tumbler switch or left sliding door CL rotary tumbler switch signals the main catch position, the striker of the SHI moves to the retracted position.Then the rotary tumbler in the auxiliary lock is closed by the right sliding door CL auxiliary lock motor (M14/31m1) or left sliding door ZV additional lock motor (M14/32m1) using a control cable.

The rotary tumbler of the auxiliary lock is released again after successful closing by retraction of the drive.
