1 Screw
2 Cylindrical roller bearing
3 Reverse gear
4 Reverse idler shaft
5 Bearing shell
6 Transmission housing rear section

Removing

1 Remove bolt (1).
2 Remove bearing shell (5).
3 Pull out reverse idler shaft (4).
4 Remove reverse gear (3) and cylindrical roller bearing (2).

Checking

5 Check all components for damage and wear and replace defective components.

Install

6 Oil reverse idler shaft (4) and cylindrical roller bearing (2) lightly with automatic transmission fluid.
7 Attach the cylindrical roller bearing (2) and reverse gear (3) to the reverse idler shaft (4).
8 Insert reverse idler shaft (4)
9 Insert bolt (1) and align threaded hole of reverse idler shaft (4) with the bolt (1).
10 Pull out bolt (1) again.
11 Mount bearing shell (5) with new bolt (1).

The inscription on the bearing shell (5) must point towards the output side.
