1 Assemble external plates (6, 8) and internal plates (7) in sequence shown and insert individually.

A different number of external plates (6) and internal plates (7) are fitted depending on the transmission version.

Place new externally toothed plates and internally toothed plates in ATF oil 1 h before installation.

The lining side of the externally toothed plates and internally toothed plates must face upwards (output side).

8 Externally toothed disk (4.0 mm)

L Toothed plate play





2 Install circlip (9).

Both ends of circlip (9) must be on a lug of the external plate carrier (1) (arrows).





3 Press the pressure device onto the externally toothed plate (8) until the marking ring (lower arrow) is just still visible.
4 Using a feeler gauge, check plate play (L) at three points between circlip (9) and external plate (8).

The circlip (9) must abut at the top of the groove in the external plate carrier (1).

If necessary, adjust the toothed plate play (L) by installing a circlip (9) of corresponding thickness.
