GF27.20-D-3002H Torque Converter Lockup Clutch Control, Function
- TRANSMISSION 722.6
The aim of using the torque converter lockup clutch is to lower the fuel consumption and exhaust gas emission of the vehicle by reducing the converter slip. This stands in contradiction to the ride comfort demands made on the drive train with regard to its vibration behavior. The task of the electronic transmission control is therefore on the one hand to close the clutch wherever possible in all driving situations relevant to consumption and on the other hand to guarantee the isolation of engine vibrations from the drive train.
The operating condition of the torque converter lockup clutch is determined by the following influencing variables:
^ Accelerator pedal movement
^ Uphill and downhill gradients
^ Transmission shift functions
^ Transmission oil temperature
^ Durability requirements
^ Load condition
^ Engine control influences
