GF27.19-D-5145H Electric Control Unit, Component Description
- TRANSMISSION 722.6

2a Valve body of shift plate

Y3/6 Electrical control unit

Location

The electric control unit is screwed onto the shift plate valve body.

11 Connector

Y3/6 Electrical control unit
Y3/6b1 Transmission oil temperature sensor
Y3/6n2 RPM sensor 2
Y3/6n3 RPM sensor 3
Y3/6s1 Starter lockout contact
Y3/6y1 Modulating pressure control solenoid valve
Y3/6y2 Shift pressure control solenoid valve
Y3/6y3 1-2 and 4-5 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y4 3-4 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y5 2-3 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y6 Torque converter lockup PWM solenoid valve

Design

The electric control unit consists of a plastic supporting body on which the following electrical components are located:
^ The rpm sensors
^ The control solenoid valves
^ The shift solenoid valves
^ Torque converter lockup PWM solenoid valve
^ The starter lockout contact
^ Transmission oil temperature sensor

Conductor tracks which are laid in the supporting body make the connection between the electrical components and a 13-pin plug socket.

The connection to this cable set at the vehicle end and to the ETC [EGS] control unit (N15/3) is made via this 13-pin plug.

Except for the solenoid valves all the electrical components are rigidly connected to the conductor tracks.

N15/3 EGS control unit
Y3/6b1 Transmission oil temperature sensor
Y3/6n2 RPM sensor 2
Y3/6n3 RPM sensor 3
Y3/6s1 Starter lockout contact
Y3/6y1 Modulating pressure control solenoid valve
Y3/6y2 Shift pressure control solenoid valve
Y3/6y3 1-2 and 4-5 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y4 3-4 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y5 2-3 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y6 Torque converter lockup PWM solenoid valve

Function

Signals from the ETC [EGS] control unit are converted into hydraulic functions in the electric control unit. The rpm sensors, the starter lockout contact and transmission oil temperature sensor supply input signal to the ETC [EGS] control unit.

The solenoid valves are actuated by the ETC [EGS] control unit and trigger the hydraulic functions.
