GF32.31-D-5105H Level Sensor, Component Description

- with CODE (CE2) Rear air suspension

Shown on right side of vehicle on model 639

B22/7 Left rear level sensor
B22/10 Right rear level sensor

Location

The left and right rear level sensors are each mounted onto the rear axle using a carrier plate between the semi-trailing arm and underfloor.

Task

The left and right rear level sensors determine the upward and downward motion of the vehicle, i.e. the distance of the underfloor relative to the traffic lane, and then convert this information into a direct-current voltage signal.

Design

The left and right rear level sensors are designed as a Hall sensor and each one connected using a lever and a mounting rod with the rear axle semi-trailing arm.

Function

The vehicle's upward and downward motion induces a solenoid to be turned by means of a magnetically sensitive semiconductor component, which supplies a corresponding output signal for the rotation angle to the electronic level-control control unit (N97), (for model 639 (N51/3)).
