Steering and Suspension: Service Precautions

AS32.22-Z-0001-01A Risk of Death

Risk of death

Adjustment operations on the air suspension can cause the vehicle to rise and fall, thus creating a constantly changing hazard area

If the air suspension system is defective, sudden pressure loss may cause the vehicle to lower quickly on its own.

Risk of injury

Reaching into the area of the axle suspension or level control system during adjustment operations or with a defective compressed air system can cause serious injuries.

Safety instructions/precautions

- Testing and adjustment work must not be carried out between wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well, but rather only from below the vehicle.

- Secure non-visible hazard zones against unauthorized access using appropriate shielding (e.g. barriers, safety guards).
