Location

The driver Side bag sensor and the front passenger Side bag sensor are located in the B-pillars on the lower left and right in the direction of travel.

Task

The driver Side bag sensor and the front passenger Side bag sensor record the acceleration or deceleration acting in the transverse direction on the vehicle in the event of a side impact and trigger a plausibility check in the Highline airbag control unit (N2/15). If the data is plausible, a trigger signal is sent to the thorax bags and window bags.
