30 AdBlue(R) tank
32 AdBlue(R) extraction tank
B152 AdBlue(R) tank fill level sensor
R51b1 AdBlue(R) tank temperature sensor
Location
The AdBlue(R) tank temperature sensor is located together with the AdBlue(R) tank fill level sensor and the AdBlue(R) removal tank in the AdBlue(R) tank.
Task
The AdBlue(R) tank temperature sensor detects the temperature of the reducing agent AdBlue(R) in the AdBlue(R) tank.
Design
The AdBlue(R) tank temperature sensor has an integrated measuring resistor with negative temperature coefficient (NTC).
Function
The NTC measuring resistor changes its electrical resistance according to the temperature of the AdBlue(R) reducing agent. Electrical resistance decreases as temperature increases. The variation in resistance causes a voltage signal to be generated and this is used by the AdBlue(R) control unit (N141) to calculate the temperature of the reducing agent.
