GF40.15-D-5126H Wheel Sensor, Component Description
Example illustration
A69/1 Left front TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
A69/2 Right front TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
A69/3 Right rear TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
A69/4 Left rear TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
Location
The respective wheel sensor is located on the inside of the associated rim, as an extension of the filling valve.
Design, example layout
1 Mounting screw
2 Filling valve
3 Counternut
4 Cap
A69/1 Left front TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
A69/2 Right front TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
A69/3 Right rear TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
A69/4 Left rear TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
Each wheel sensor is connected to the filling valve (2) via a mounting bolt (1) and together they form one assembly unit. The counternut (4) is used to fasten this assembly unit to the rim flange.
A wheel sensor consists of the following components:
^ Pressure sensor
^ Temperature sensor
^ Acceleration sensor
^ High frequency (HF) transmitter
^ Sensor battery for voltage supply
A wheel sensor can only be replaced as an entire assembly unit.
Task
The wheel sensors measure the pressure, the temperature and the acceleration.
The following data are transmitted via the integrated high frequency (HF) transmitter at specific intervals:
^ Tire interior pressure
^ Tire interior temperature
^ Wheel acceleration
^ Individual sensor ID
^ Condition of sensor battery
As part of the energy management process, the wheel sensors automatically switch between the following operating modes:
^ Energy saving mode, vehicle stationary
^ Normal mode, the system is active
At extreme internal tire temperatures the respective wheel sensor switches off.
