GF82.15-D-2150H Telescopic Nozzle Component Description
- with CODE (F46) Headlamp cleaning system
- with CODE (F46) Headlamp cleaning system
- with CODE (LG1) Xenon headlamps
1 Telescopic nozzle
Location
A telescopic nozzle is situated underneath both the left lamp unit (E1) and right lamp unit (E2) or, in vehicles with code (LG1) Xenon headlamps, underneath the left XENON lamp unit (E1/6) and right XENON lamp unit (E2/6).
Task
The telescopic nozzle is used to clean the respective lamp unit.
Design
The telescopic nozzle is a hydraulically extendable telescoping section with an integrated return spring and nozzle. It does not have any electrical connection.
Function
After activating the headlamp cleaning system pump (M5/2), pressure is built up in the washer fluid line. Driven by the water pressure, the nozzle first moves telescopically into the cleaning position.
After this a valve opens due to a further pressure rise at the telescopic nozzle and a precisely metered quantity of washer fluid is sprayed onto the respective lamp unit. If the water pressure drops, the telescopic nozzle is retracted by spring pressure into its starting position.
