Headlamp flasher function
"Terminal 15R ON" applies as function requirement.
By pulling the headlamp flasher/high beam switch (S144s2) of the combination switch (S144), the driver activates the headlamp flasher. The MRM control unit (N80) reads in the combination switch and supplies the "Headlamp flasher ON" message over the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C).
The EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) reads in the "Headlamp flasher ON" message and sends it to the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B). The SAM control unit (N10) reads in the message "Headlamp flasher ON".
With the rotary light switch (S1) in position "0" the SAM control unit actuates the high beam (E1/6e1) in the left XENON lamp unit (E1/6) via the xenon control unit (E1/6n1) and the high beam (E2/6e1) in the right XENON lamp unit (E2/6) via the xenon control unit (E2/6n1).
When the rotary light switch is in the "Low beam" position, the SAM control unit only actuates the high beam in the left XENON lamp unit via the xenon control unit and the high beam in the right XENON lamp unit via the xenon control unit.
Additionally, the SAM control unit transmits the "Headlamp flasher ON" message to the instrument cluster (A1) via the CAN-B. The instrument cluster then actuates the high beam indicator lamp (A1e3).
