GF82.10-D-3020H Headlamp Flasher Actuation, Function
- except CODE (LG1) Bi-xenon headlamps with cornering illumination
"Terminal 15R ON" applies as function requirement.
The driver activates the headlamp flasher by pulling the headlamp flasher/high beam switch (S144s2) of the combination switch (S144). The MRM control unit (N80) reads in the combination switch and supplies the "Headlamp flasher ON" message over the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C). The EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) reads in the "Headlamp flasher ON" message and sends it to the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B). The SAM control unit (N10) reads in the message "Headlamp flasher ON".
With the rotary light switch (S1) in position "0" the SAM control unit actuates the high beam (E1e1) in the left lamp unit (E1) and the high beam (E2e1) in the right lamp unit (E2).
With the rotary light switch in "Low beam" position, the SAM control unit only actuates the high beam in the left lamp unit and the high beam in the right lamp unit.
In addition, the SAM control unit transmits the message "Headlamp flasher ON" via CAN-B to the instrument cluster (A1). The instrument cluster then actuates the high beam indicator lamp (A1e3).
