GF82.10-D-3008HA Turn Signal Indicator Actuation, Function

GF82.10-D-3008HA Turn Signal Indicator Actuation, Function

- with CODE (LG1) Xenon headlamps

Operational sequence turn indicators
Function requirements:
- Circuit 15 ON
- No undervoltage or overvoltage

The left and right turn signal switch (S144s1) of the combination switch (S144) is in the "Left turn" or "Right turn" position.

The left and right turn signal switch of the combination switch is read in directly by the MRM control unit (N80). The MRM control unit places the "Left turn" or "Right turn" signal on the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C). The EZS control unit (N73) reads in the "Left turn" or "Right turn" signal and sends it to the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B). The SAM control unit (N10) reads in the "Left turn" or "Right turn" signal.

After reading in the "Left turn" signal, the SAM control unit actuates the following turn signal lamps:
- Turn signal lamp (E1/6e5) in left XENON lamp unit (E1/6)
- Driver outside mirror turn signal lamp (M21/6e1), in model 906.111/113/131/133/135/211/213/231/233/235/611/613/ 631/633/635/637/711/713/731/733/735
- Turn signal lamp (E3e1) in left taillamp (E3), in model 906.611/613/631/633/635/637/653/655/657/711/713/731/ 733/735
- Turn signal lamp (E3/6e1) in left taillamp (E3/6), in model 906.111/113/131/133/135/153/155/211/213/231/233/235/ 253/255
- Left additional turn signal lamp (E22/1), with code (L44) Side front turn signal lamps
- Left roof additional turn signal lamp (E22/6), with code (LB3) Additional flat rear turn signal lamps on roof, via additional turn signal module (N9/1)

After reading in the "Right turn" signal, the SAM control unit actuates the following turn signal lamps:
- Turn signal lamp (E2/6e5) in right XENON lamp unit (E2/6)
- Front passenger outside mirror turn signal lamp (M21/7e1), in model 906.111/113/131/133/135/211/213/231/233/235/ 611/613/631/633/635/637/711/713/731/733/735
- Turn signal lamp (E4e1) in right taillamp (E4), in model 906.611/613/631/633/635/637/653/655/657/711/713/ 731/ 733/735
- Turn signal lamp (E4/6e1) in right taillamp (E4/6), in model 906.111/113/131/133/135/153/155/211/213/231/233/235/ 253/255
- Right additional turn signal lamp (E22/2), with code (L44) Side front turn signal lamps
- Right roof additional turn signal lamp (E22/7), with code (LB3) Additional flat rear turn signal lamps on roof, via additional turn signal module (N9/1)

The instrument cluster (A1) visually and acoustically indicates the turn signal procedure, by actuating the left turn signal indicator lamp (A1e10) or right turn signal indicator lamp (A1e20) and the acoustic turn signal indicator.

Actuation of the turn signals is terminated automatically by means of automatic reset when the steering wheel is turned in the opposite direction or by manually moving the left and right turn signal switch of the combination switch to the middle position.

If a turn signal lamp malfunctions, the flashing frequency of the left turn signal indicator lamp or right turn signal indicator lamp and the switching frequency of the acoustic turn signal indicator in the instrument cluster is doubled.

Turn signal lamp touch control, function sequence
For one-touch turn signaling, the left and right turn signal switch of the combination switch may only be briefly (t < 500 s) moved into the desired signaling position. Without the left and right turn signal switch of the combination switch latching in the turn signal position, this triggers 3 turn signal cycles. One-touch turn signaling is interrupted by activating the hazard warning lamp function or by operating the left and right turn signal switch of the combination switch in the opposite direction.

The operational sequence for the turn signal lamp touch control is the same, in relation to the signal flow, as that for the turn signal indicator. The difference lies in the actuation and ending of the turn signal procedure only.

At the same time, in vehicles with code (E43) Trailer hitch socket, the signals for actuating the above-listed lamps are forwarded over CAN-B to the trailer connection unit [AAG] control unit (N28/1).
