GF82.10-D-0003H Exterior Lights, Function
GF82.10-D-0003H Exterior Lights, Function
- except CODE (LG1) Xenon headlamps
The exterior lights (ABL) comprise the following subfunctions:
- Parking lamp, except code (L94) No parking light
- Side lamp
- Low beam
- High beam and headlamp flasher function
- Front fog lamp and rear fog lamp
- Additional front fog lamp, with code (L16) Halogen front fog lamps
- Turn signal indicator lamp and hazard warning flasher
- Backup lamp
- Stop lamp
- Emergency light
- Headlamp range adjustment (LWR), except code (CE2) Rear air suspension
- Headlamp delayed switch-off
- Locator lighting (AFB)
These subfunctions are triggered via various controls. The central control for the parking lamp, except code (L94) No parking light, the standing lamp, the low beam, the front fog lamp, the rear fog lamp and the additional front fog lamp, with code (L16) Halogen front fog lamps, is the rotary light switch (S1). The LWR is activated via the headlamp range controller (S1/1), except code (CE2) Rear air suspension. LWR is not required for vehicles with code (CE2) Rear air suspension. The rotary light switch, except code (CE2) Rear air suspension, and the headlamp range controller are part of the light switch module.
The high beam and headlamp flasher function are triggered via the headlamp flasher/high beam switch (S144s2), the turn signal indicator lamp via the left and right turn signal switch (S144s1).
Both switches are integrated in the combination switch (S144). The backup lamp is triggered by the backup lamp switch (S16/2) in vehicles with transmission 711.6. For vehicles with transmission 722.6, the selector lever position "R" is read in by the EWM control unit (N15/5). The EWM control unit transmits the selector lever position "R" message via Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C) to the EZS control unit (N73).
The EZS control unit transmits the selector lever position "R" message via Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B) to the SAM control unit (N10). The SAM control unit controls all lamps of the ABL.
At the same time, in vehicles with code (E43) Trailer hitch socket, the signals for activating all the lamps of the exterior lights are forwarded over CAN-B to the trailer connection unit [AAG] control unit (N28/1).
