GF54.30-D-3020HH Display Coolant Temperature, Function
GF54.30-D-3020HH Display Coolant Temperature, Function
- with CODE (JK3) High-end instrument cluster with speedometer in km
General
The coolant temperature can be shown on the display (A1p1) of the instrument cluster (A1).
Press the system selection button (S111s3) on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL) repeatedly until the basic display (main and trip odometer reading) appears in the display. Then press the scroll forward/back button (S111s1) repeatedly until the coolant temperature is shown in the display.
Networking
Networking - coolant temperature:
- The coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) changes its resistance corresponding to coolant temperature. The sensor has a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) resistance, i.e. the resistance reduces as temperature increases.
- The resistance of the coolant temperature sensor is read in by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/23), the CDI control unit (N3/20) or the CDI control unit (N3/21).
- The ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/23), the CDI control unit (N3/20) or the CDI control unit (N3/21) converts the resistance values of the coolant temperature sensor into a temperature value and places it as a signal on the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C).
- The instrument cluster reads in the signals from CAN-C. The coolant temperature is shown on the coolant temperature display in the display of the instrument cluster.
All warning messages concerning the coolant temperature are shown on the display of the instrument cluster. There is no additional indicator lamp for the cooling system.
