Overview of air conditioning wiring harness
1 12-pin connector (Climate control control and operating unit)
2 Interior wiring harness
3.1 8-pin connector housing (separation point for instrument panel)
3.2 8-pin connector housing (separation point for instrument panel)
4 Red line (battery positive terminal)
5 Brown line (ground point (left front lamp unit))
6 3-pin connector (refrigerant pressure sensor)
7 2-pin connector (refrigerant compressor)
8 2-pin connector (coolant circulation pump)
9 4-pin connector (additional fan)
10 Brown line (ground point (right front lamp unit))
11 Engine compartment wiring harness
Route lines into engine compartment and connect:
1 Open cable duct for front end waistrail (12).
2 Route red line (4) of engine compartment wiring harness with branch-off line of 8-pin connector housing (3.2) into vehicle interior.
Pay attention to stress-free and chafe-free line routing, attach chafe protection if necessary. If there is an excessive length, strap down lines at a suitable point.
3 Route engine compartment wiring harness with 4-pin connector (9) and brown line (10) along firewall and to the right.
4 Align the engine compartment wiring harness on the firewall such that the branch-off line (13) with the 2-pin connector (8) is located in the installation area of the circulation pump (M13/4).
5 Fit 2-pin connector (8) onto circulation pump (M13/4).
6 Join engine compartment wiring harness in area of firewall to existing lines and wiring harnesses.
7 Close cable duct for front end waistrail.
8 Attach brown line (10) of engine compartment wiring harness to ground point (right front lamp unit) (W2).
9 Route branch-off line of engine compartment wiring harness with 4-pin connector (9) down to connection on additional fan unit of right engine compartment side wall and route out towards the front through the radiator grille.
10 Attach 4-pin connector (9) to additional fan unit (14).
11 Connect lines for engine compartment wiring harness in area of right engine compartment side wall to available lines and wiring harnesses.
12 Route branch-off line with 2-pin connector (7) and 3-pin connector (6) and brown line (5) of engine compartment wiring harness down to the left engine compartment side wall.
13 Connect brown line (5) to the ground point (left front lamp unit) (W9/6).
14 Connect 2-pin connector (7) to refrigerant compressor (A9).
15 Connect 3-pin connector (6) to the refrigerant pressure sensor (B12) on the condenser's connector.
16 Connect lines for engine compartment wiring harness in area of left engine compartment side wall to available lines and wiring harnesses.
Route lines into interior compartment and connect:
17 Connect 8-pin connector housing (3.1) of interior compartment wiring harness (2) to driver footwell with the 8-pin connector housing (3.2) on the red line (4) of the engine compartment wiring harness.
Pay attention to stress-free and chafe-free line routing, attach chafe protection if necessary. If there is any excess cable
18 Route along an interior compartment wiring harness (2) beneath instrument panel to center part of instrument panel and lead out of installation opening of climate control control and operating unit.
19 Connect interior compartment wiring harness (2) under the instrument panel to existing lines and wiring harnesses.
20 Also route wiring harness (16) of old climate control control and operating unit and wiring harness (18) of new heater housing out of the installation opening.
The wiring harness (18) of the new heater housing is equipped with a 24-pin connector (19).
21 Transfer five lines from the 12-pin connector (17) of the wiring harness (16) as shown in the following overview to the 12-pin connector (1) of the interior compartment wiring harness (2).
22 Strap wiring harness (16) with the lines (gr/bl, sw/or) remaining in the 12-pin connector (17) under the instrument panel.
23 Attach chafe protection (arrows) in area of driver footwell to the red line (4) of the engine compartment wiring harness.
24 Route red line (4) into the battery box, then onto the battery's positive terminal (G1) and connect to the positive terminal distributor (15).
