GF83.10-D-4125H Blower Motor Component Description

M2 Blower motor

Location
The blower motor is located in the front blower box, which is installed in the front right passenger footwell, below the glove compartment.

Task
The blower motor increases or reduces the rate of circulation of fresh air or recirculated air in the vehicle depending on how it is actuated by the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (S98).

Design
The blower motor consists of a housing, a solenoid armature with winding, the motor axle, the permanent magnet attached to the housing wall and the blower wheel mounted on the motor axle.

Function
On vehicles except code (HH9) Regulated air conditioning, (Tempmatic) the blower motor series resistor group (R14), allows a specific amperage to flow to the blower motor depending on the position of the blower switch (S98s1) integrated into the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit.
On vehicles with code (HH9) Regulated air conditioning, (Tempmatic) the blower regulator (M2n1) allows a specific amperage to flow to the blower motor, depending on the position of the blower control button (+) (S98s10) and blower control button (-) (S98s11) integrated into the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit.
The flow of current in the winding generates a weak or powerful magnetic field depending on the amperage. This magnetic field in turn induces the solenoid armature with winding to rotate in the magnetic field of the permanent magnet and the motor axle turns slower or faster.
