R14 Blower motor series resistor group

Location
The blower motor series resistor group is located in the air duct of the front blower box to the front heater housing below the glove compartment.

Task
The blower motor series resistor group is actuated by the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (S98) to regulate the operating speed of the blower motor (M2).

Design
The blower motor series resistor group (R14) consists of the following resistors.
- Stage 1 resistor (R14r1)
- Stage 2 resistor (R14r2)
- Stage 3 resistor (R14r3)

Function
Depending on the position of the blower switch (S98s1) integrated in the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit, the blower motor series resistor group permits a specific amperage to flow to the blower motor and thus to actuate the different operational speeds of the blower motor.
