Location

The traction system hydraulic unit is located on the left side of the engine compartment in the direction of travel.

Task

The traction system hydraulic unit carries out the control functions of the ESP control unit.

Design

Amongst others the traction system hydraulic unit contains the following components

^ High pressure and return pump
^ Solenoid valves for pressure holding
^ Solenoid valves for depressurization
^ Solenoid valves for switching over
^ Check valves
^ Pressure reservoir
^ Brake pressure sensor
