GF82.70-D-2014H Short Message Service (SMS), Function

GF82.70-D-2014H Short Message Service (SMS), Function

- with CODE (EH3) Universal preinstallation for networked portable CTEL

The telephone control unit (A34/14) recognizes when a new so-called Short Message Service (SMS) message has been received by the respective portable CTEL and transmits it to the display of one of the following activated audio sources where it is shown:
- Radio/radio with navigation (N87/1) with code (EF9) Sound 20 radio
- Radio/radio with navigation with code (EN4) COMAND with TMC interface
- Radio/radio with navigation with code (EN8) Sound 50 APS radio

The SMS messages that are received and transmitted in the audio source that is installed in each case are sorted according to their status into the lists "read", "not read" and "sent". The user also has the option at any time to delete SMS messages that are no longer required.

The user can also compile his/her own SMS messages and send them via the respective portable CTEL. The parameters for sending the SMS message, such as the service provider no. or the memory time is supplied by the actual audio source that is installed. If no parameters are stored, the parameters of the particular portable CTEL are used. If a fault occurs during an SMS action, e.g. no cellular mobile telephone network available or the respective portable CTEL is not plugged in, then this is notified to the user by the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) system by means of a corresponding error message in the form of a "pop-up".
