The function indicator light is located on the right on the front of the transmitter key.
Task
- Remote control for central locking (CL)
- Transmitting drive authorization data to EIS [EZS] control unit (N73).
Design
The transmitter key consists of an electronic component and a mechanical part.
The electronic part comprises:
- One radio frequency transmitter
- One computer chip
- 2 button cell batteries
- One function indicator light
- One unlock button
- 2 transmitter buttons (model 906.1) or 3 transmitter buttons (model 906.6/7)
- One transponder
Function
- Pressing the "Lock" button once locks all the doors.
- Pressing the "Unlock" button once unlocks the driver door.
- Pressing the "Unlock button" twice within 2.5 s unlocks all doors.
- On model 906.6/7 pressing the "Unlock sliding/rear door" once unlocks the rear door, the sliding door on the right side, and on vehicles with code (T19) sliding door on the left, the sliding door on the left side.
Drive authorization
After inserting the transmitter key into the EIS [EZS] control unit, it is supplied with power via an induction coil. Data exchange takes place to verify the drive authorization status.
Function indictor light
When the "Lock" transmitter button or the "Unlock" transmitter button is pressed for a longer period of time, the battery and function indicator lamp comes on momentarily and indicates the proper state of the battery (2 button cells) in the transmitter key and that they are ready for operation.
Mechanical key
When unlocking or locking the vehicle with the mechanical key, the CL is not actuated (only the corresponding door is opened). The anti-theft alarm (ATA) is not deactivated.
The ATA is installed on vehicles with code (FY1) EDW 2 with interior protection, towing sensor and battery-operated horn
