Location
The ATA hood switch is located below the upper radiator cover in the vicinity of the engine hood catch on front module crossmember.

Task
When the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is activated, the ATA hood switch monitors the status of the engine hood, i.e. whether it is open or closed.
The ATA hood switch is read in directly by the DBE control unit (N70) via a discrete line.
If the engine hood is opened when the ATA is activated and is not closed within t > 30 s, the ATA hood switch is not evaluated when the status of the engine hood changes.If the engine hood is closed within t < 30 s, the ATA hood switch is evaluated when the status of the engine hood changes.
