GF77.20-D-2050H Rear Sliding Roof Unit Obstruction Sensor, Function

GF77.20-D-2050H Rear Sliding Roof Unit Obstruction Sensor, Function

- with CODE (D24) Power tilting/sliding roof, passenger compartment

The obstruction sensor is monitored by the rear tilting/sliding roof Hall sensor (M12/1b1) and rear tilting/sliding roof Hall sensor (M12/1b2). If the Hall sensor pulse signals are missing, in spite of the actuation of the rear tilting/sliding roof motor (M12/1m1), the direction is reversed. After t = 160 ms, the rear tilting/sliding roof motor is switched off. Moreover, a mechanical thermal protection switch prevents overload on the rear tilting/sliding roof motor. If the rear tilting/sliding roof Hall sensor pulse signals are missing, the rear tilting/sliding roof can be closed in time increments of t = M12/1160 ms or with the emergency crank.

Emergency operation

When the rear tilting/sliding roof is actuated with an emergency operation, position is not sensed. It is then necessary to "normalize" the rear tilting/sliding roof.

Reverse mode

If obstruction is recognized on the rear tilting/sliding roof by the obstruction sensor unit, the rear tilting/sliding roof motor reverses directions, e.g. the rear tilting/sliding roof motor is actuated opposite the direction of motion. The open rear tilting/sliding roof is opened 125 mm, if it is more than 125 mm away from the rear stop at the time of obstruction. If the rear tilting/sliding roof is closer to the rear stop, actuation of the rear tilting/sliding roof motor is deactivated.

If the rear tilting/sliding roof Hall sensor pulse signals are missing for t = 1 , the rear tilting/sliding roof reverses directions, it is at least 150 mm away from the rear stop. After expiration of this time, the rear tilting/sliding roof is denormalized, if the Hall sensor pulse signals are still missing.

If the rear tilting/sliding roof is closed to the rear stop, the rear tilting/sliding roof motor is deactivated to prevent a mechanical load on the rear stop. If obstruction is recognized while the tilting roof is being closed automatically, the tilting roof is reversed to the tilting position (ventilation position).
