GF80.50-D-6000HM Interior Protection Sensor, Component Description

GF80.50-D-6000HM Interior Protection Sensor, Component Description

- with CODE (FZ4) Anti-theft alarm system with interior protection and center towing sensor

- with CODE (FY1) ATA 2 with interior protection, towing sensor and battery-center operated horn

Shown, except code (V36) Headliner
B44/1 Center interior protection sensor

Location
On vehicles except code (V36) Headliner, the center interior protection sensor is attached to the Cross bow" on the roof at the height of the B-pillar in the load compartment with a special bracket. On vehicles with code (V36) Headliner, the center interior protection sensor is attached at the height of the B-pillar on the headliner in the passenger compartment.

Task
The center interior protection sensor monitors the interior vehicle load compartment or the passenger compartment and relays each change to the front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor integrated into the OCP control unit (N70) (B44) as signal via discrete lines.
Since the center interior protection sensor monitors all activities in the interior compartment, it is necessary to reduce the strength of the interior protection (IR) if certain statuses are present. The following statuses are sensed when the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is activated and lead to the reduction of the strength of the IRS:
- Open window
- Open tilting/sliding roof (SR), with code (D27) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof
- Open rear sliding roof unit (SR-R), with code (D24) Passenger compartment power tilting/sliding roof
- Operation of stationary heater (STH), with code (H12) Auxiliary heater (warm water) or with code (HZ5) 10 kW warm water auxiliary heater with timer
- Operation of auxiliary heater, with code (H11) Warm air auxiliary heater
- Operation of heater boosters (ZUH), with code (HZ9) Heater booster, diesel or with code (HZ5) 10 kW warm water auxiliary heater with timer
- Residual engine heat utilization system operation (REST), with code (HH9) Regulated air conditioning, (Tempmatic)
- Activated blower motor (M2)
- Activated rear heater blower motor (A32/1m1), with code (H13) Additional heat exchanger in load compartment
- Activated rear air conditioning blower motor, with code (HH7) Additional air conditioning in rear
- Activated rear reinforced air conditioning blower motor, with code (H08) High performance air conditioning

The statuses mentioned are transmitted to the center interior protection sensor by the front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor to the OCP control unit, which receives the status from the OCP control unit. The OCP control unit determines the statuses by itself or reads them in via the controller area network, class B (interior compartment) (CAN B).
With "Convenience closing" function, with code (FZ8) Convenience opening/closing with IR remote control, the following statuses can still change:
- Open window
- Closed afterwards

- Open SR, with code (D27) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof
- Closed afterwards

- Open SR-R, with code (D24) Passenger compartment power tilting/sliding roof
- Closed afterwards

Function
The center interior protection sensor outputs ultrasonic pulses while operating. They are reflected by the vehicle load compartment or by the interior compartment. The reflections are registered by the center interior protection sensor receiver, evaluated by the microcontroller and relayed to the front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor integrated into the OCP control unit via discrete lines.
The reflection pattern changes if objects move in the vehicle load compartment or in the passenger compartment. In this manner the center interior protection sensor recognizes motions in the vehicle load compartment or in the passenger compartment.
