Support fixture
1 Check sleeves (19, 20) of support fixture (11), change if necessary.
Different sleeves (19, 20) need to be used depending on the transmission model. The relevant transmission drawings are specified on the sleeves.
2 Clamp support fixture (11) in vise.
3 Release the fastening device (21) and slide support slides (17, 18) outwards as far as the end stop.

4 Insert main shaft (7) and countershaft (14) into the support fixture.
5 Only transmission 711.685:
Fit intermediate plate (4) on countershaft (14).
6 Slide support slides (17) inwards as far as the end stop and lock with fastening device (21).
The oil guide ring (22) must sit between the reverse gear idler gear (23) and the 1st gear idler gear (25).
The synchronizer ring, cone ring, friction ring and the clutch body (arrow) must sit over the constant mesh gear (24).
7 Only transmission 711.685:
Install bearing cap (5) and tighten finger-tight.
The cams on the outer bearing race (26) must engage in the bearing cap slot (5).
8 Slide shift forks (9, 10) onto guide shaft on the shift fork (8).

9 Insert shift forks (8, 9, 10) with the guide shaft in the support fixture.
10 Slide the support slide (18) inwards as far as the end stop.
In doing so, lift the shift dogs and insert evenly in the sliding sleeves (arrows in left figure).
11 Install shift fork (12).
The shift dog of the shift fork (12) must engage in the sliding sleeve (arrow in right figure).
12 Shift all shift forks into neutral position.
The notches in the shift forks (arrow) must be level so that the shift shaft can be installed later.
