AH26.40-N-1001-01S Notes on Working on Central Clutch Release Bearing of Transmission
Model 906 with transmission 711.6
The central clutch release bearing must be replaced in the following cases, if:
^ the clutch has been thermally overloaded.
Indications for this are for example:
- burnt clutch plate lining,
- Discoloration of clutch release bearing on central clutch release bearing.
^ When turned by hand, under light preload the clutch release bearing of the central clutch release bearing, runs roughly or makes noises (shortage of grease).
^ The central clutch release bearing jams at the bearing when the application of force is even.
^ The central clutch release bearing is corroded, for example the vehicle had flood water damaged (bearing predamaged).
^ The central clutch release bearing is leaky.
Indications of leaks are, for example:
- Moisture under the boot,
- Moisture under the plastic support (breather or feed line),
- Brake fluid in the transmission housing.
^ The engine or transmission have oil loss.
Here it is assumed that the central clutch release bearing has been leaking due to the effect of oil on the gasket. Indications of leaks on the transmission are, for example, signs of oil on the mounting surface of the central clutch release bearing on the transmission.
